Job Description

Specific role/responsibilities: 
� Ensure the P and L success of the department, including the preparation of the budgets and cash flows, and the action plans necessary to achieve them. 
� Ensure that the services provided by the department meet and exceed the expectations and requirements of patients and potential patients through regular and effective measurement 
� Ensure that the quality and efficiency standards and outcomes required in each Area of Responsibility are applied, reviewed regularly and developed 
� Achieve the continual maximum utilization and efficiency from staff, space and other resources including the automation systems related to the Areas of Responsibility. 
� Ensure full compliance with the terms of the Management Agreement 
� Ensure the development and proper functioning of the teams within the Areas of Responsibility 
� Ensure that all operational procedures are complete, benchmarked and comply with or exceed best practice, and are reviewed regularly 
� Help builds the culture of the department through personal example. 
� Produce and apply a strategic marketing plan for the Areas of Responsibility 
� Ensure that the pricing, marketing and public relations activities are in place and producing results Top Line and Bottom line growths 
� Play an active role in the marketing of the hospital to the surrounding communities and other stakeholders. 
� Ensure there are effective networks in place with Government bodies, large employers and other critical persons and institutions. 
� Ensure that the staffing plans are implemented. 
� Ensure the necessary supply contracts are in place. 
� Ensure that training and development plans are designed and implemented. 
� Build and lead an effective and motivated management team. 
� Ensure the liaison and reporting mechanisms with the hospital management function efficiently 
� Ensure the practice of Outcome Management produces continual results in quality, efficiency improvements and business growth.
